Infection over shaft of penis post unprotected sex can be due to Herpes simplex virus most likely. It is the characteristic of the Herpes infection for primary resolution followed by reappearance after some weeks or so. Kindly get examined with your primary care Physician for physical work up and necessary lab reports for best therapy ahead.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
