How To Get Rid Of Headaches After Having Sex?

Hey, I ve been having headaches just as of 3 days ago out of nowhere. I believe it is whats called Coital cephalalgia or sexual headaches. I get a severe headache that is only caused by sexual activity and my neck becomes a little uncomfortable when this happens, It s a throbbing pain in the back of my head that builds up. I ve been taking some ibuprofen and acetaminophen to help but nothing really will help enough. After sustaining from sexual intercourse the headache remains there but the pain goes down and eventually there is none anymore. I was wondering what I can do to help get rid of this if at all? I ve never experienced anything like this before and I don t know what to do.

I read your question carefully and I am sorry about your concern.

It seems you have what is called a preorgasmic headache, a dull pain in the head and neck with awareness of muscle contraction occurring during sexual activity.
There are options to prevent it which must be taken before intercourse like Propranolol, Naratriptan (60 mins before) or Indomethacine (30-60 mins).

To stop the pain once it has started drugs of the triptan class are the most effective.

If it becomes a chronic problem, preventive regular treatment can consist of Propranolol, Indomethacine, Metoprolol or Diltiazem daily.

I hope to have been of help.
