How To Get Gluten-free Drugs?

I have Epilepsy and Celiac Disease and it is very difficult to find gluten-free drugs that are generic (because of my co-pay/generic) that don t have gluten in them and when I do some places say that their distributing warehouse says it is N/A. What should I do, I have been calling around to pharmacies and finding out where they get certain drugs for my Epilepsy within a 30 to 40 mile around with not to good a results. What should I do ? I have tried YYYY@YYYY to them to get a certain drug in but yet no results.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you happen to contact a drug company for information and you are told that a drug contains gluten you really need to push them to tell you which excipient in that drug product is considered the source of the gluten contamination.

If it turns out to be one sugar alcohols you may wish to re-evaluate their response.

While it is always up to the celiac patient to determine whether a product is safe for them, the prevailing literature continues to suggest that these sugar alcohols are safe for use.

You don't need to search for gluten-free drugs, in my knowledge, there is hardly any clinical supremacy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
