General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Flecainide is a class Ic antiarrhythmic agent that is used in the prevention and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms or arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia etc. This medication should be taken in the dose and duration as directed by the prescribing doctor. Anybody should not stop taking this medication even his or her condition gets better.

If someone stops taking this medication suddenly, he or she will not experience any unpleasant side effects that is known as withdrawal syndrome, but the cardiac arrhythmia will no longer be being controlled. So anyone should not stop taking this medication without consulting the prescribing doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
