How To Detect Pregnancy On Strips?

I took a home pregnancy test (first response) about three weeks ago. The controlled line was very faint and the first line was bold. This happened for the next two test each a few days apart. Then tonight I took another one but this time the controlled line was bold and the first line was faint. What does this mean? Does it mean my HCG levels are dropping and leading up to a miscarriage?

Distinct colour bands appear on control &test regions. Presence of both test lines& control line indicate positive pregnancy test.hcg levels remain high in pregnancy for more than 75 days I
