They know what they are doing and have their own ways of justifications. your advises and pleadings are intrusions in their individual life. They feel so. His behaviour like carelessness, dropping schools, getting angry over minor things, blaming you for everything etc could be occurring due to some mood disorder though evaluation is needed. Bipolar disorder with mania may present with anger outbursts and such individuals show abnormal projection to other people. I would advise you to take him to a psychiatrist for evaluation of his symptoms and treatment. Medicines like low dose anti psychotics and mood stabilisers help to recover from such symptoms and result in quick recovery. Drugs like low dose Olanzapine, Quetiapine, Sodium Valproate etc are used commonly. Visit a doctor for proper prescription.
