How To Cure Unpleasant Odour In Mouth After Removal Of Tooth?

had all teeth removed a few days ago and dentures put in, I lost a blood clot out of a socket yesterday and my breath smells and my mouth tastes bad. I have been following the instructions given. I am not having a major amount of pain. I did have some for a while after i lost the clot. The paper said to call the office if i had a foul smell and they could tell me what to do but they are closed. What else can I do besides the salt water rinse?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the foul smell along with bad taste in mouth and also loosing a blood clot seems that you are developing a dry socket and it is a potent cause for the symptoms that you are experiencing.

As you have lost the blood clot the socket will not heal on its own and you need to get back to your dentist and he can put a dressing inside the socket that contains Zinc oxide Eugenol and will help in initiating healing and lso provide disinfection..
You should also do warm saline gargles..
Gargle with flavoured antiseptic solution..
In case if you experience pain you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Avoid chewing from the affected side..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
