Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.
As your condition is not improving even with antibiotics for prolonged period there may be possibility of some other underlying conditions like chronic bronchitis (especially if you are a smoker), tuberculosis, drug resistant pneumonia, improper dosage and choice of antibiotics, presence of super-infection due to prolonged antibiotic therapy and presence of pneumonia mimickers. You should consult a pulmonologist and discuss these issues and should undergo necessary investigations to rule out their possibilities.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Arnab Maji
