I have boils on my scalp. They are painful and I can barely comb my hair. My doctor had given me 10 days worth of antibiotics, wash my hair in baby mild shampoo, and to never perm my hair anymore. After doing all this religiously and after my antibiotics ran out, my boils came back with a vengeance. I can t keep living my life in pain. What can I do to heal my boils and keep them away.
Hi. As per your case history you are having scalp folliculitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
