Hi,

I may have to have my colon removed and attached to the small intestine. I have heard some horrow stories abou weight gain after this procedure. How much can you eat, and if the weight comes on quickly, how can it come off? what is the reason for weight gain after this procedure?

Thank you.

Well come to HCM
Thank for asking,
I appreciate your concern, as a matter of fact it is not the case but the underlying pathophysiology is matter of concern and that plays the role, as long as the surgery is concern, although abdomen surgery may not cause the weight gain if this is so then surgery is not the cause, what ever the story you heard is not true, you have not given the detail clinical history here, for what you want to get done the abdomen surgery, intestinal surgery, such case needs detail clinical information, and case history, your detail query will be appreciated hope this information helps
