How To Confirm A Kidney Infection?

Hi I am a 28yr old woman with an implanon implant in my arm. I have had 2 children and urinary reflux since i was born. The reflux seems to have settled down and i have had quite a few kidney infections in my life. usually it starts as a urine infection for a few days if i don't get onto it it can turn into a kidney infection. I had pains all of a sudden like kidney infection last night and went to the doctor today and there were no signs of a urine infection a fter i had taken ural but i had very high levels of protein in my urine. I undrstand i may need a blood test to test my kidney function but with my history it has never shown this before... can semen from the night before affect the urine sample i gave thedoctor? My doctor has been blazare about my condition before and am worried he isn't being thorough enough considering i have rather bad scaring on my left kidney.

Hi,
It seems that you might be having chronic renal infection and might have affected your kidneys.
To know position of kidneys and type of infection, you might require,
1, Routine urine with culture and sensitivity test,
2, Blood for S. creatinine, urea,
3, Ultrasound of kidneys.
Consult urologist and get examined and investigated.
Ok and take care.
