Hello
As you are curious about AIDS or popularly known as HIV infection .
You didn't want a confirmatory test for HIV infection .
Only way is that if someone develop HIV , there develop symptoms :
Approximately 50-705 of infected individuals experience an acute syndrome following primary infection.
The acute syndrome follows infection by 3-6 weeks .
Symptoms are , fever, pharyngitis , headache /retro-orbital pain ( behind eyes), lymphadenopathy, letharhy/malaise,arthralgias /myalgias, anorexia /loss of weight , erythematous rashes , mucocutaneous ulceration.
Antibodies begin to appear within 2 weeks of initial infection ( contract with HIV infected patient ).
Chronic cases develop following symptoms :
Major signs
1 Weight loss ================1 month
2 Chronic diarrhea =============1 month
3 Prolonged fever===============1 month
Minor signs
1 Persistent cough for one month
2 Generalized pruritic dermatitis
3 Recurrent Herpes Zoster
4 Oropharyngeal candiasis
5 Chronic progressive and disseminated Herpes simplex infection
6 Generalized lymphadenopathy.
So I mentioned in detail for your information.
