How To Bring Down Increased BP And Pulse Rate Apart From Reducing Weight ?

Hi,

I'm 26 year old male.. I weight around 135 kgs.. Im 45kgs above my normal weight.. Though im obese, i dont feel any abnormalities in my health..

Recently i took self BP reading.. And it showed 147/97 and pulse rate of 121..

Should i be worried??

Hi,

Your BP reading is considered high, but not high enough for being serious.

I suggest to keep on following the healthy diet and exercise which will help you reduce weight and keep you fit for at least 3 months.

If after 3 months of such changes, the BP will remain the same high, I suggest to :
- do EKG
- cardiac echo
- blood lipid profile
- blood sugar testing

in order to evaluate your current health condition further and to decide to start the right medication.
