How To Ascertain That The Medicines That I Am Taking Are Safe?

Taking synthyroid, niacin/81mg aspirin, simuvastatin, Claritin, metformin, glyburide, gralise, lisinopril hctz, omperazole. Have been taking cipro for a couple of months for a fistula in my abdomen. I was referred to a cardiologist for dizziness and he found tachycardia and gave me 12.5 coreg. Is all this medicine safe?

It is understandable when on multiple medications to worry about possible interactions between medications.

IN terms of possible drug reactions: (1) there is a risk of significant reaction between the niacin and simvastatin- they increase the toxicity of each other and therefore increase the risk of serious side effects such as rhadomyolysis

(2)aspirin and lisinopril also act to increase the effect of glyburide, so you may want to monitor your blood sugar levels
