How To Ascertain That I Have A Fractured Bone?

i hit my shin very hard with a hammer 3months ago and i still have bruise in area that is painful to the touch and doesn t seem to be healing. it is within a cm of where i have fixator scar from when i had fractured tibial plateau and that is where the metal rod was. Since I am use to pain in that area regularly it goes unnoticed most of the the time. could i have fractured the area and still been able to walk this long and not known it or could it be cellulitis. Thanks for your time.

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you have got tibial plateau. It has been 3months. It is still painful in the area near fracture. Your fracture has united but has not consolidated (became solid). In this phase fracture is tender to touch. It seems unlikely to be cellulitis. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
