How Should Arm Cluster Bruises With Pain Be Treated?

Hi... I am a66 year old woman. I have always bruised easily. But I have several clusters of bruises on my left arm. There are also a couple larger ones. The problem is, that unlike other bruise (ie 3 I got camping in early Sept.), these do not go away. They might fade a little but come back sstrong. Along wit this, my right arm, from shoulder down is really painful. My poor husband thinks I might have serious heart issues. (I have a leaky valve heart murmur from rheumatic fever) or he thinks I have some type of blood dor skin disease. I did see my MD. He did blood panel. Some elements were a little high or a little low but nothing drastic. He said it may happen because my skin and vessels are thinning out as I age, so I bruise even easier than before. I get that, but why won t they go away after almost 3 months? And does the pain in my arm have any thing to do with it? Sorry this is so long.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
you might be having a low platelet count and hence you are developing these bruises.
Get your platelet levels, bleeding and clotting time checked.
Sometimes spontaneous bruising might be associated with dangerous systemic conditions.
I suggest you to get a thorough check up done.
Usually it takes around 2 weeks for the bruise to heal,
you can use oint thrombophobe to get a faster relief.
A photograph would have helped me better.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
