How Should A Scrotum Blood Clot Be Treated?

Hi Doc, This is venkat. i'm here to address one of my friend's problem. His name is Topaz, age - 28, Gender - Male. He met with an accident 2 days back and found nothing serious. He didnt had any fracture, but blood clot in his scrotum(in his balls). He is still in the hospital. He has been adviced to be in the hospital for monitoring. but nothing great action is done. He is very much feared about his blood clot in the scrotum. He has the scan report taken and the doctors said nothing to worry about the problem, he should be alright in a couple of days when the blood clot releases. he doesn't have pain but just worries if there could be some serious problem unnoticed. Please Help him and suggest as to what should be done. Thanks, Venkat.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello Venkat and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i share your concern for Topaz.
On ultrasound scan of scrotum, one can make out impact of clots on testis.
If the clot size is small,no intervention is needed and pain is minimal.
If the clot size is significant, it'll be told to Topaz, and surgical treatment to clear the clots, will be done. Large clots are also is painful.
Hope you can reassure your friend now.
If you''ve any doubts, you may send it to me as a direct question.
