How Should Metolazone Be Continued After Skipping A Dosage?

My mom takes Metolazone 5MG every morning, followed 30 minutes later with Potassium 10MEq andn 10mg Torsemide... I usually hand them to her....... I had awoken from a nap around 6 and thought I had missed her dose of Metolazone, so I have her one pill... turns out it was 6 PM when I woke... Her normal dosing is in the morning, any time after 6 am after we both wake up... I did not give her the extra dose of Potassium and torsemide having realized my mistake....... My question is this: Do I give her her normal dose of Metolazone in the morning anyway? I believe she takes it for excess fluid in her legs and not her heart....... I didn t realize I had to pay....... sorry I wasted your time...

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If her blood pressure is ok (like she is not feeling dizzy) you can continue with the same dose it wont make any problem. This drug can be taken upto maximum dose of 20 mg, however it is very effective diuretic, care should be taken with people who have feeling of weakness. Another good option is that you don't give him the dose, and wait for the next dose, as it can be skipped without any problem, if there is no large swelling of the feet.
