How Should I Take Care Of A Child Who Was Found Playing With A Bottle Of Toilet Cleaner?

Hi. I’m 98 % certain my infant did not consume any of toilet bowl cleaner, but I waked around the corner and found him playing with the bottle. Showing absolutely no symptoms I’ve read online. Do I need to be concerned? Would there be immediate symptoms?

Hi,

Firstly, make sure checking that toilet cleaners lid is closed or loosely fit. Secondly, smell your child's mouth. Toilet cleaner are mostly caustic in nature and can cause vomiting or stomach upset initially. You can observe for symptoms and wait if nothing dangerous is observed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ammara Kaleem, Pediatrician
