How Safe Is Taking Levothyroxine For Hypothyroid?

I have been on levothyroxine for 4-5 years, I went from 50mg to 75 mg to 88mg and back down to 75. I need to lose about 15-20 lbs. I feel overweight. I have a hypothyroid problem. Will this help me? Also can I take this while taking my levothyroxine 75 mg?

HI
WELCOME TO HCM.
AFTER GOING THROUGH YOUR HISTORY I WANT TO ASK YOU ABOUT TSH REPORT.IN HYPOTHYRODISM TSH IS TO BE KEPT IN THE LOER HALF OF NORMAL RANGE.
IF TSH IS HIGHER THAN INCREASING THYROXINE DOSE WILL HELP TO REDUCE WEIGHT.
IF TSH IS NORMAL ,THEN CAUSE OF YOUR OVERWEIGHT IS NOT HYPOTHYROIDISM.
IN BOTH THE CASES I WILL ADVISE YOU DAILY AEROBIC EXERCISES.BRISK WALKING FOR 45 MIN WILL DEFINATELY HELP.
ALSO RESTRICT JUNK FOODS,SOFT DRINKS,FRIED STUFFS.INCREAE INTAKE OF GREEN LEAFY VEGITABLES AND SALADS
I HOPE MY ADVISE WILL HELP YOU TO ACHIEVE IDEAL WEIGHT.
WISH YOU GOODHEALTH
