How Safe Are Ascoril And Clavulin For 4 Month Old Infant?

Hi, my son is four months old, recently had a cold and I used nasal saline drops. He has a little congestion in his chest more like mucus but not coughing.The pediatrician prescribed Clavulin and Ascoril expectorant. How safe are this and is there any other option than medication? Ps my son was born at 35 weeks prom

Hello,

Yes, these are safe. Usually, Ascoril will not be needed for more than 3 or 4 days. Clavulanate for 7 days periods. Let saline drops continue. Start steam inhalation also.
