How Reduce Spinal Pain After Surgery?

I am a 57 year old female with a history of four back surgeries including fusion in the L-5, L-6 area. After 3 surgeries, including the fusion surgery, I saw a spinal surgeon in the Twin a Cities who, following a discogram, said my problem was several tears in the disk above my fusion. He recommended fusing all my disks together. I m not sure I would have done that but it was a moot point as my insurance changed and that doctor is now out of my network. I returned to my regular surgeon who tried removing my rods from the fusion...which helped somewhat but my spine still hurts almost more than I can take...can you help me. My surgeon says everyone has these tears in their disks and that they shouldn t be the reason for my pain. He has left me high and dry! HELP

Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

I understand how you feel and would recommend trying a medical treatment for the chronic management of your back pain.
In this regard, I would recommend trying amitriptyline or pregabaline.
Physiotherapy may also help improve your back pain and the movements of the spinal column.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
