How Much Protein Is Needed For Child With Nephrotic Syndrome?

Hi, my son is 3 years old and half. He has diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome since 1st July. He took pred 6x 5mg per day and negative proteinuria from 11th July (10 days from starting). Could you suggest me a healthy nutrition for him from now. How much protein he can get per day? He is 16kg and 98cm. Could you give me some sample menu for nephrotic syndrome children?

Hi
Welcome to HealthCareMagic

A balanced diet, adequate in protein (1.5-2 g/
kg) and calories is enough .He can get 24-32 gram protein per day . As your child is now not passing proteins , higher protein diet is not required . Not more than 30% calories should be derived from fat and saturated fats
avoided. For a menu based plan you can consult a dietician .

thanks
