hi welcome to healthcare magic,
Females have a hormone called estrogen which decreases the risk of heart diseases ,the hormone is not present in males . Drugs are taken to lower the lipids intern to reduce the risk of heart diseases.but post menopause that is usually after 45 both males and females have the same risk.
