Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Much Of Valium Should I Take Before Going For Teeth Extraction?
I'm having major teeth extractions in the morning - then bone grafting with sinus lift then 5 implants top jaw and 4 implants lower jaw. I'm terrified! They said I could arrive 1/2 hour earlier and have a Valium to help. How much Valium is good and for my 3-4 hour procedure how long will effects last? I will also be with local anesthetic.
Valium contains Diazepam which is commonly taken as anti -anxiety drug to calm your mind.. It is advised before dental procedures to prevent anxiety and panic attack and both the patient and dentist will be at ease.. I would Suggest you to take 0.25mg dose of Valium one hour before the dental procedures so that you can easily get treated.. You will be under local anaesthesia so the pain will also not occur..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
