How Many Minutes Before A Meal Should I Take Istamet?

How many minutes before should we take Istamet (1-0-1), blood sugar level is high these days, am also taking human mixtard 50 of insulin just before every meal every day (34-34-28), am sure there is something wrong in the timings what am taking my medicine, people say i have to wait after istamet and insulin injection but i faint coz of low sugar at times when i wait for 30 minutes please help me

Dear sir i can understand your concern.
the medication what you are taking are very good.
As you rightly said there is slight problem in timing of medication.
insulin should be taken 20 mins before food and istamet should be taken 10 mins after meal.
this will help you to prevent low sugars.
istamet will work better only if taken after food as the action of istamet is glucose dependent.
