How Long Will Upset Stomach, Feverish Feeling With Mood Swings After Stopping Morphine For Pain Management Last?
I WAS IN A AUTO ACCIDENT WHICH RESULTED IN A DISCECTOMY AND SCIATICA PAIN. I HAD SURGERY AUGUST OF 2009. I WAS PLACED ON HYDROCONE FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT. ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO MY AUTO INSURANCE CO SUGGESTED I SHOULD BE ON MORPHINE FOR PAIN MGMT. AUGUST 2013, I DECIDED THAT I HAD TO DELETE THESE PILLS FROM MY LIFE. I DID NOT KNOW THAT I HAD BECOME PHYSICALLY DEPENDENT ON THEM. I STOPPED ON MY OWN AND FOUND OUT ALL ABOUT WITHDRAW. I ENTERED INTO A SUBOXONE PROGRAM AND TOOK MY LAST DOSE DEC 10, 2013. I STILL FEEL LOUSY, MY STOMACH IS STILL UPSET AND I FEEL LIKE I HAVE THE FLU. HOW LONG WILL I FEEL THIS BAD?
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. Your openion that you should stop morphine is good. But the flu and stomach problem may not be related to the dependance. If you have stopped it by tapering you would not have it. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms citrizine, phenylephrine , cifixime, and omeprazole. for symptomatic relief. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to hasten the recovery. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
