How Long Will The Side Effects From Intake Of Pristiq Last?

Hi and thank you. I have just starting taking Pristiq. I have done 6 days at 25mg and two days now at 50mg. I feel exhausted and very nauseas. I was wondering if these effects lessen over time as my body gets used to the medication. I was wondering how long this might take? Thanks again

Hi,
Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) has nausea as the most common side effect. One of the reason the starting dose is low is to minimise the occurrence or severity of such side effects.
For your question on whether side effects will relieve over time, the answer is yes and it usually does in many patients. But if it is too severe and is affecting your daily activities, you can consult your physician and ask for an alternative.
I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a nice day. Take care.
