General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The serum Amylase level is related to inflammation status of the pancreas. As the level has been dropped down to 141 from 4000, it indicates resolution of acute phase of pancreatitis. Regular visit to your doc for period evaluation with amylase and ultrasound to look for:
* Pseudopancreatic cyst
* Abstinence from alcohol if consuming
* Low fat diet
* Control of body weight and serum cholesterol

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
