Hello,

The deficiency of vitamin D does need supplements for a couple of months to bring the vitamin to optimal levels.

After using supplements for 2-3 months you can repeat the test to check the levels for any improvement. Apart from vitamin D, the symptoms of lethargy and generalized body aches can be caused by low levels of B-complex vitamins which are used by the body in the energy release process.

I would recommend you to add a daily supplement of B-complex or multivitamin which will help you with your symptoms like Centrum or Revital.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
