How Long Does Viral Conjunctivitis Take To Get Cured?

Hi, I was diagnosed with viral conjunctivitis by a home-visit doctor 4 weeks ago, who thought it would clear up in a few days to a week (I know it can take much longer than this). 4 weeks later my eyes are still very itchy and get red at times. Is it possible I was misdiagnosed? Thanks@

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there for your information viral conjunctivitis can take upto 6 to 8 weeks to get resolved depending upon the immunity and how active, severe the symptoms were so it varies from patient to patient. So worry not just maintain eye hygiene and use artifical tears to get the eye clean and clear it will be resolved.

Thanks

Regards
Dr Varun
