I have pins in both feet, which occasionally cause pain and swelling, especially after hiking any distance.Have had several shots of Marcaine (or its equivalent) which I was told would help flush out the congestion of blood by somehow fooling the nerves. While circulation into feet is apparently OK, it seems all the scar tissue makes it hard to circulate out (thus some swelling & pain). Two injections over a 2-yr period have helped somewhat. But am wondering about the validity of the flushing claim.
