Not as common as false positives. First, a urine test SCREEN is if something sticks to the dipstick used for the test. Frankly, I've not seen a urine be positive from literally sticky urine, but it would surprise me if that did NOT happen. Some drugs concentrate in semen...it has a different pH than most anywhere else and if the drug has the opposite charge, it is attracted.
yeah, they've done this analysis.
"Generally, prostatic fluid is more acidic than plasma, causing ion trapping of the weak base, cocaine, to occur in the
prostate. This would lead to semen/plasma ratios greater than unity. However, semen also contains vesicular fluid that is alkaline (3). The wide fluctuations in semen/plasma ratios were likely due to variationsin prostatic and vesicular fluid pH
and corresponding differential contributions
to ejaculate volume. "
Tricky, the cocaine level might be double the level in the blood but it gets diluted a lot by the urine (100 fold). It's a stretch but it doesn't seem impossible since concentrations often are more than 100 fold higher than the level needed to be positive on the test.
