My head and body is in a state and i need very helpful advice as i dont want to live like this. Ive tried stoppin everythin and now im housebound because i cannot handle it. So...sorry if this doesnt appeal to many but i am shit scared, so if u dont have anythin ov great note to add then dont bother. I need advice from someone that knows about the adrenal gland and the metabolic side ov things, also the psychcosis, have a over tripped it and can i get it back to lead a normal life.

Hi Lee, I just came across your question and although I cant help I wanted to sympathise with you. Ive been put on Propranolol 80mg a day for migrain and chronic daily headache. The last 4 months Ive not had a day without pain but I didnt beleive the Drs and didnt want to take the medication. Thank god I finally listened to the Drs and a week ago I went on to the tablets. My pain is 90% better and as much as I hate being on this drug it really seems to be doing something good to my body. I too really want to exercise and get lots of different advice from the internet, I also have a tight chest since taking the tablets so I am going to check with the doctor on this this week. I think you should go and have a quick chat with your dr too. Please remember your not alone in this, there are loads of us on these tablets and sometimes it can help
Psychiatrist Dr. Sumit R Chandak's  Response
Dear Mr. Lee, with the complaints that you have reported and the discomfort (physical and psychological) you are going through definitely warrant some medication. The best person you could discuss with could be your psychiatrist over the in the NHS. Propranolol is one of the medications prescribed for this condition but there are more options and your queries can best be answered by someone who has seen you in person.. Take care..

General & Family Physician Dr. Jitender Chauhan's  Response
Hello, welcome to HCM. Propranolol is classified as a beta blocker. It is also used on occasion for the treatment of medication-induced movement disorders caused by antipsychotic drugs and certain anxiety states in people suffering from a specific form of social phobia . Beta blockers , such as propanolol, are not useful for people with general social phobia who are anxious in most social situations; instead, propanolol may be useful for people who are anxious about specific performance situations, such as presenting a speech before an audience. In the treatment of anxiety, propranolol is usually not administered on a chronic basis but, rather, prior to stressful events such as public speaking or acting. As you are still unsure about the effects of it on you i would advice you to visit a psychiatrist to help you get rid on anxiety after proper evaluation. Wish you good health.

Psychiatrist Dr. Dr.Nehal's  Response
Hi,
thanks for using health care magic.
You should consult psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and to find of the cause of anxiety in particular.
Sometimes depression may be associated with anxiety.
Propranolol is useful only in case of performance anxiety.
I think you need psychotherapy or counselling and if that does not work, then, Antidepressant medication like peroxetine or sertraline
I hope you will be fine soon.
thanks
