General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Meprate contains medroxy-progesterone which is a derivative of female hormone, progesterone.

You can take the drug for 7 to 15 days. You will not bleed during these days.

After stopping the drug, withdrawal bleeding occurs in an average of 5 to 7 days. You can wait for a maximum of 10 days.

In case of absence of bleeding even after 10 days, any hormonal imbalance should be identified and treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
