How Long Does It Take For A Salicylic Acid Burn To Heal?
Hi. I applied salicylic acid on my chin on a pimple, I guess I applied a bit too much coz if which my skin got burned and now it s turned black. Can u pl tell me how long would it take for it to heal? Hope it won t leave a scar? I m using homeopathic cream for burn cantharis

Salicylic acid can burn the skin if left on for too long Or if used in higher strengths. However, it does'nt penetrate deeper than startum corneum which is the superficial layer of the skin and therefore it won't cause any permanent scaring.
The dead skin may take up to a week to peel off but ultimately it would reveal a normal looking skin
If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream twice daily, for 3-5 days. That would hasten the healing. This is a prescription product.
You can go to a nearby dermatologist for a check up. Your dermatologist can assess and prescribe a topical steroid, if needed.
