Good to know that Lap band has no complications for the last years. but possibly the one you have mentioned after Barium swallow for the nausea and severe throat pain could be due to lap band surgery. If you take proper medications precautions, this may be alright within three to six weeks. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Continue the medications that your Doctor must have prescribed, most probably a PPI like Omeprazole, motility regulator like Domperidone and antacids. ALso take care to keep away the stress and anxiety. Keep yourself on soft and bland diet. Relax and try to get a good sleep of 6- 8 hours. Get an upper GI Endoscopy also done to know the exact position of the esophagus, stomach and first part of duodenum and get additional treatment if anything else is needed.
