How Long Does Dehydration Take To Get Cured?

I am 63, healthy, but am suffering from generalized fatigue, persistant headache, dizziness, and no energy for 2 days. It is 100 degrees and I did work on an outdoor art project in this heat for several weeks. I took lemonade with salt and then today I drank a quart of pediolite thinking I am dehydrated. Pee looks okay, frequency normal. If I am dehydrated how long til I start perking up?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dehydration is a clinical condition in which there is a deficit of total body water, with an accompanying disruption of metabolic processes.
Symptoms of dehydration include thirst and neurological changes such as headaches, general discomfort, loss of appetite, decreased urine volume, confusion and tiredness. Water loss of 1-2%, considered mild dehydration, and should be overcome by replenishing adequate amount of fluids orally. Correction of a dehydrated state is accomplished by the replenishment of necessary water and electrolytes through oral re-hydration therapy or fluid replacement. Fluids containing a proper balance of replacement electrolytes when given orally should be sufficient enough to overcome dehydration status in about 3 to 5 days.

Hope I have answered your query.
