How Long Does Bleeding Persist After A Salpingostomy?
Hi, I had a salpingostomy 2 and a half days ago. I had some bleeding after the surgery, but yesterday it slowed, however this morning the bleeding is heavier. Is this normal? And if so how many days should I expect to bleed after the surgery? I don t have any cramps or pain. Thanks.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
After a salpingostomy, it is common to experience some vaginal bleeding or spotting for a few days up to a week or two. This bleeding may vary in intensity, and it is not uncommon for it to be heavier on some days than others. It is important to follow any post-operative instructions given by your healthcare provider, including any restrictions on physical activity and advice on when to resume sexual activity.
If you experience heavy bleeding that does not seem to be getting better or if you have any other concerning symptoms such as severe pain, fever, or signs of infection, it is important to contact your healthcare provider right away for further evaluation and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
