How long does a person can live in cancer without treatment ?

On average how long does a person have to live if they have cancer and refuse to have any treatments My brother, who feels and acts very healthy, was just diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer with it having spread to the liver. Chemo seems to be the only treatment offered by the oncologist. Is there any natural treatment for this cancer? How long can he expect to live if he chooses to not have any chemo?
