How Long Does A Lump On The Forehead Take To Subside?
Over the weekend I fell and hit my head and nose...didn t break my nose but caused a cut on the top of it I also have a bump on my forehead and got two black eyes which are getting better but I am wondering how long before the lump on my forehead will go down?
As per your complain lump on your forehead after getting hit is most probably due to Hematoma formation that occurs due to accumulation of blood into soft tissues from ruptured blood vessels leading to formation of hematoma. At times the hematoma gets localized and encapsulated and can become a firm mass that can take a long time to resolve.
I would suggest you to start doing alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump. You can apply Heparin gel as it will help in faster resolution of hematoma as well fade the bruising faster. It can take about a month for it to resolve but in case if it does not resolve or shows signs of improvement consult a General Physician and get evaluated.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
