How Long Does Valium Stay In The System?
hello, i weigh 200 lbs and have taken 20 mg. of valium for a intense muscle spasms today. i was just informed that i have to see my probation officer tues. and might have to take a urine drug screen,i dont know! how long how long would that be in my urine and would drinking lots of water help?

The half-life of a drug (t½) is the amount of time it takes for half of a drug (50%) to leave the system (body). Most drugs are eliminated by the body after four-to-five half-lives (t½).
Valium has a of fairly long t½ about 1-3 days. It therefore takes an average of 45 days for the entirety of the valium to leave the system.
Drinking lots of water does not help in reducing the t½ and thus the clearance from the body will not be affected.
