How Long Does Symbicort Stay In The Body?

I was taking symbicort for an asthma flair brought on by mycoplasma and I developed severe myalgias and arthralgias throughout my body. I have discontinued the symbicort; just wondering if you have any idea how long it would take to get out of my system fully and thus have the side effects stop. In the past I just used proair and flovent; never have used this medicine before.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Symbicort can take up to 5 days to be completely cleared from your system.
Myalgia and arthralgia is not likely due to Symbicort as you had no problems while taking Proair/flovent.
Both symbicort and proair/flovent has a combination of Beta agonist and steroid, and has similar side effect profile.
The myalgia you experienced is likely due to Mycoplasma infection.
I recommend that you start using either Symbicort or Proair/Flovent to prevent relapse of asthma symptoms.

Hope this answers your questions
Please let me know if you need further clarifications
