General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is difficult to monitor how long opioid containing medications such as percocet stay in a fetus body during pregnancy because it is not easy to calculate it accurately. In addition, finding the drug in a newborn's system can not predict exactly when he was exposed. Drugs and metabolites are stable in meconium for up to 2 weeks. Meconium contains the amniotic fluid swallowed by the fetus in the last half of pregnancy and is released as the first stools after birth.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
