Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am pregnant right now and I was wondering how long percacets stay in the baby s system? I am afraid the doctors at the hospital will check her blood and I don t want to loose my daughter over one perk and I have hip problems and tryed to take a tylonal a while ago and it didn t help with my pain so I took one of my perks which this is the very first time that I have tooken one since I became pregnant!!
It is difficult to monitor how long opioid containing medications such as percocet stay in a fetus body during pregnancy because it is not easy to calculate it accurately. In addition, finding the drug in a newborn's system can not predict exactly when he was exposed. Drugs and metabolites are stable in meconium for up to 2 weeks. Meconium contains the amniotic fluid swallowed by the fetus in the last half of pregnancy and is released as the first stools after birth.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
