How Long Does Nature-throid Stay In The System?

how long does it take for Naturthyroid 1gm. to get out of your system. I stopped taking it as per my endocrinologist 5/21. I want to do my follow up blood work. Is 6 weeks long enough to get a good reading on my thyroid function? Thank you, Tina Marie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Usually, we do recommend to run blood work 4-6 weeks after the treatment was started to check if it was correct. In your case, you stopped Naturthyroid 1 gm 6 weeks ago, it seems enough time to get the results from your lab tests. However, you should follow your endocrinologist advice every time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
