How Long Does Levothyroxine Dosage Change Take To Show Effect?

My doctor said, my thyroid level is low, she changed my prescription of Levothyroxin 100 mg to 88mg. My symptoms are severe fatigue, all I want to do is sleep, my body aches, I have dizziness and sometimes tremors with my head and hands shaking. How long will it take for my med change to work?

Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.

You should start to see some mild improvement of your symptoms by the next 2-3 weeks, majority of symptoms would settle by 6-8 weeks (if the thyroid dose is the correct dose).

Lethargy and dizziness could also be due to anaemia. Can you get a complete blood picture /Full blood count done? It is a blood test and will check your Haemoglobin and other blood cell counts.

I hope this answer has helped you.

Thank you
Regards
