How Long Does Depakote Take To Show Effect?

my mother is in a healthcare facility with dementia. She was prescribed Depakote on 9/27 for sundowning symptoms. This doesn t seem to have helped at all and the dosage was increased to 3 a day yesterday. How long will it take for this medication to have some positive results?
