Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
July 2017 received prescription Cipro for urinary tract infection and developed left Achillies Tendonitis, also shoulder tendons pain, numbness in arms. How long does it takes for Cipro to leave the body so the pain numbness will stop? ( It was cipro 500 mg 1 a day for 14 days. Pain started 2 days later) Had torn right ankle which was repaired November l8 2016 and it seems to cause pain and numbnes in that ankle and lower leg as well after taking the 2017 Cipro! YYYY@YYYY
Hi, If you are operated for achilis tendon then ciprofloxacin should be avoided unless and until necessary, because it's known side effects includes tendonitis and tendon rupture. Now you have to stop ciprofloxacin. Also confirm from surgeon whether rupture is there or not. Thanks.
Ciprofloxacin usually does not stay more than 1 day in your body. What you seem to be having are the effects of the tendonitis and its side effects post repair or some other cause for these pains. Also check if you might be having other medications that cause muscular pain like statins anti-cholesterol treatment)
Hope this helps
Kind Regards
