How Long Do Plagiocephaly-affected Babies Take To Recover From The Condition?

My baby is 5months old. We noticed symptoms of plagiocephaly and torticollis around 3months bt doctor said it would auto correct. Bt it s getting worse and am worried. She is slow in development n reaching milestones too. Will my baby recover from this and hw long it takes. Please suggest a specialist in bangalore

Depending on how severe the deformity is, a headband or specially-fitted helmet is used for 2-6 months.

I am concerned about your infant's slow development because with head flattening there can be brain maldevelopment. If there is a university medical center where you live, the speciality doctors would help to contact the pediatric neurosurgeons and pediatric plastic surgeons. They will evaluate her head. Request a referral to pediatric physical therapy to learn exercises that will stretch the neck muscle that is causing her head to be turned.

Also, your infant's development ought to be assessed by a developmental pediatrician.
