Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Regular birth control pills contains 2 hormones progesterone & oestrogen. These hormones just stay in body for approximately one day upon intake & therefore they require daily dose for their action.
As you have been off the drug for about 5 months. they are out of your system for sure & they would not prevent unwanted pregnancy now. You should use condom as method of preventing unwanted pregnancy now. If You have unprotected sex, there would be chance of pregnancy with that.
You could start with birth control pills on first day of next menstrual cycle again & in this way you could have unprotected sex. you could also use an IUD device such as copper T which would act as long term birth control method for years.

Refer to a gynaecologist
Hope this information helps
